As we previously wrote, Marvel’s Avengers is retiring. Now Crystal Dynamics will transfer the remaining team to work on a new game in the Tomb Raider series. And, as one insider said, we’ll see the project this year. But with the development of Perfect Dark, there are still difficulties.

Insider Miller Ross announced the end of support for Marvel’s Avengers the day before the official announcement. However, he said Crystal Dynamics is transferring project personnel to Tomb Raider. According to him, the development of the latter is already well advanced – so far that a full presentation of the game is planned for this year.
Crystal Dynamics itself also reported that the details of the next Tomb Raider should be expected in 2023.

The new Tomb Raider is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. The game is published by Amazon Games, not Square Enix, as was the case with the previous parts. Rumor has it that Lara Croft will inspire a new generation of tomb raiders and go on an adventure with her colleagues. Previously, the heroine did it alone, so she will be uncomfortable in the team, but she must overcome this. It is believed that in addition to Lara, it will be possible to control other tomb raiders.
In addition to Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics is developing Perfect Dark for Xbox Game Studios. According to the same insider, the game’s team has “cleared a few hurdles” that will see the new Tomb Raider appear before Perfect Dark, which was announced in 2020.
