Adam Jensen is also waiting for a new Deus Ex game

Elias Toufexis, Adam Jensen’s voice actor in the latest Deus Ex games, wondered when we’ll get a sequel to Mankind Divided and Human Revolution.

It’s been seven years since the release of Eidos’ last mainline game, and the franchise has been on hold ever since. Since then, the actor has already worked on Call of Duty, Assassin’s Creed and Fallout, but he still dreams of Jensen’s return.

The original Deus Ex has long entered the pantheon of epic games, setting the standard for immersive sims like Dishonored, BioShock, and large-scale open worlds like Cyberpunk 2077. The 2011 prequel and reboot, Human Revolution, offered us a nice combination of stealth and complex storytelling, combining great world design, great soundtrack and gameplay with different approaches to play through.

We last saw Adam Jensen in 2017, when Eidos released the latest expansion “A Criminal Past” for Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Developer Eidos Montreal has since been acquired by the Embracer Group, and we’re still awaiting news on Deus Ex’s cyber-augmented future.

“When does the next Adam Jensen story start?” asks a Toufexis fan. “Just ask Eidos Montreal and the Embracer Group,” the actor replies. “I ask myself that question too.”

In late 2022, rumors surfaced that a new Deus Ex game was in development at Eidos Montreal, but it’s still in its infancy. This came after Embracer’s purchase of several Square Enix studios, including Crystal Dynamics, the creators of Tomb Raider, and Eidos Montreal itself.
