There’s no summer without the now-classic Gamescom Opening Night Live, which is basically the opening night of Gamescom, the largest video game trade show in the world, kicking off this week in Cologne. Lots of news to expect, including new game announcements, details on titles we already know about, and more. So here’s where you can watch it live and the minute-by-minute live text of the German night.
Gamescom Opening Night Live 2023 Live —
The appointment with Geoff Keighley – producer and presenter of The Game Awards, among others – is set today, August 22 at 8 p.m. There will be a half hour pre-show at 7:30 PM. This year’s two-hour event will focus primarily on updates to games that have already been announced and are due out within 12 months, according to Keighley. Obviously there will be room for entirely new reveals, but without kidding ourselves too much, the evening could be relatively small compared to the bombshells we’ve become accustomed to over the years.
The confirmed games for the Gamescom Opening Night Live, which will kick off the actual Gamescom (August 23-27), are as we mentioned already numerous: certainly among the greats Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Alan Wake II, Tekken 8 , Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Mortal Kombat 1. The hope, of course, is that these will be accompanied by at least some big shots that we are not yet aware of, but we will know very soon…

I have been working in eSports Chimp for almost 5 years now. I have written different types of articles but I mostly focus on gaming news. It has always been my dream to work in eSports Chimp and I am grateful that I am able to do so.
I grew up playing video games and it has always been one of my passions. When I was younger, I never thought that I would be able to make a career out of it. But now, I am able to write about games and share my passion with others through my work.
I believe that there is a lot of potential in the world of eSports and I am excited to see how it grows in the future.
