The manufacturer of the multiplatform engine Unity has released this official apology regarding the recent announcement of the Unity Runtime Fee committee, which was met with hostility from game developers.

Let us remind you that from January 1, 2024, Unity will start charging developers for each installation of the game by users after a certain threshold is exceeded.
The response to the new policy turned out to be extremely negative: developers massively criticized Unity, and 19 studios sent an open letter to the company and disabled monetization in their games as a sign of protest.

Nearly a week after the initial announcement, Unity released a short statement: ‘We heard you. We apologize for the confusion and anxiety caused by our Unity Runtime Fee announcement on Tuesday.”.
“We’re listening, we’re talking to our team, our community, our consumers and our partners, and we’re going to make policy changes. We’ll tell you more in a few days.”says Unity.
