Let’s not forget that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second of three installments of the remake of the cult Japanese role-playing game Final Fantasy VII – the first was Final Fantasy VII Remake. Further possible spoilers.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth begins with Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red
Sephiroth can take control in the same scene as before
According to Nomura, the order of events and locations in Rebirth is different than in the original. For example, the heroes of the remake will not visit the state of Wutai until the third game, although in Final Fantasy VII this happened earlier in the plot.
“While there are some changes to the order of locations, the areas depicted in the game extend to the Forgotten Capital, where Final Fantasy VII’s greatest destiny awaits.”Nomura said.
To avoid major spoilers, let’s just say that the Forgotten Capital is the location of one of the most shocking and talked-about plot twists in Final Fantasy history. This is probably where Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will end up.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on February 29, 2024 on PS5, for which it will be released on two discs. The game will be exclusive to the Sony console for at least three months, until May 29.
