From the Myst studio, Firmament is a puzzle-focused first-person adventure game.

Myst originally arrived on computers nearly 30 years ago in the 1990s. The first-person puzzle-solving game got a new version in 2021, and now, the The Cyan Worlds studio presents its new creation: Firmament. The new title follows what made Myst such a success and hits PC on May 18.

Firmament follows the not-so-explored style: first-person games focused on exploring and solving puzzles and beautiful visuals, without any kind of combat. Quickly, off the top of my head, this premise takes me back to The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (which I highly recommend).

The game from the creators of Myst will bring a steampunk look with lots of iron and machinery everywhere. Firmament will also support VR, but it will be entirely possible to play it in the traditional way.

The developers promise to deliver “a fantastic visual feast, with exciting new landscapes around every corner.” The puzzles in the game will be solved by the tool called “Deputy”. The adventure will not be entirely solitary, as usually happens in this type of game, since a “mysterious apparition” accompanies the protagonist through the three kingdoms of the Firmament.

While the system requirements don’t call for modern hardware, for those who want to get the most out of the game, you’ll need 32GB of RAM, a requirement that has come up repeatedly in AAA PC titles.
