We play Hogwarts Legacy! See first impressions of the game

Last week, the team Adrenalin was invited by Warner Bros. interactive entertainment to play the game in advance Hogwarts Legacy. After trying out some resources and getting to know the Warner office, today we’ll go over the first impressions of the expected game in the Harry Potter universe.

Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive open-world action RPG set in the wizarding world of the 19th century, which allows the player to create his character and choose the house he most identifies with in the wizarding school.

Our first contact with Hogwarts Legacy is through the character creator, where we find several customization options for the new student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At the beginning of the adventure, players can choose between skin colors, hairstyles, scars and marks, eyewear options, and even your characters’ tone of voice.

Still in the creation part, players must also select the game difficulty and define a first/last name of the witch. After that, the journey just begins.

To start testing, we explored a bit of the hogwarts open world. At the beginning of Bootstrap, we fly over the castle with the broomstick, which is one of the means of moving around the vast map. With the object we can choose between staying still, flying slowly or speeding up.

During the game, we pass by the structures of the giant Hogwarts castle and the Quidditch field; however, as previously announced, the sport cannot be played at Hogwarts Legacy.

After that we tried the minigame. Summons Challenge with Leandro Prewettwhich consists of a board game between two witches who use the Accio spell, used to call objects from a long distance into their hands, only using balls and obstacles, just like bocce balls.

Entering the castle, we get a broader view of the central hallgives Library and the Herbology room. In all these environments, we can notice the presence of several students who talk and bring interesting dialogues between them. In addition, during the tour you can also find classic objects such as photographs and enchanted moving paintings.

It’s worth noting that the entire experience was available in 4K via a PlayStation 5. It’s also important to note that the available version was already localized in Brazilian Portuguese, which also made for a very satisfying immersion.

Now, let’s go to one of the parts that most interest fans: The Battles of Hogwarts Legacy. After visiting some places in the castle, the game takes us to luke brattlenbywho coordinates the duels of the Club of the Crossed Rods. By the way, in this part we already have an introduction to player choices, since when entering an interaction with a character, you will be able to decide between two response options.

As the name suggests, in Wands Crossed Club duels, wizards face each other and whoever is left standing wins the match. During the game, the character created by the Adrena team was teamed up with the witch. sebastian sallow in a duel against a duo and then against a trio (which was not easy at all). During combat, the player can also recover health, use shields, and dodge spells.

In practice, to cast spells against enemies, just press R2 and select the X, square, ball, or triangle buttons. It is also possible to perform combos with spells and basic attacks while the opponent is in the air, dealing more damage and of course, making the fight more interesting. The Adrenaline team also agreed to one of the game’s missions along with the student poppy sweetening. In this quest, the character must embark on an adventure to find out what the hunters are doing with innocent creatures in the magical world.

Halfway through, we found some centaurs in the forest and managed to access other spells that seem to be important throughout the game. We also come across areas that can be investigated to find the hunters.

Regarding the threats on the way, the player can try to pass through the opponents in stealth mode or by casting spells everywhere. If you choose the first option, the character can use the Disillusionment spell and should always be aware of the nearest enemies, who may sense a presence in the area.

At the end of the tests, we use the Alohomora spell to open a lock and capture an object. In the end, we were subjected to an electrifying duel with the hunters to free an endangered creature.
